Today’s photo shoot was based in Paddock Wood at Compaid which is the largest disability charity in the country supporting over 1,800 disabled and vulnerable people every year.
A little bit of background – the Charity was founded back in 1986 by Lorna Ridgway MBE, who recognised the enormous potential of personal computers to increase the communication and creative opportunities for those living with disability. After the charity became established, transport services were added to bring clients into the centre and over the years this has grown to a weekly supermarket bus service for older people who don’t have any other way to do their weekly shopping.
My brief was to capture a selection of images depicting a day in the life of Compaid, highlighting the centre and the outside services offered including the pick up of clients and the shopping service.
Below are a few images from a great day spent with some genuinely lovely people be it clients or staff, they all keep smiling and joking, it was a very refreshing day!
